The Device
The Otricathâ„¢ (Figure 1) is a 3-part catheter that uses a novel therapeutic strategy to deliver anticancer agents in a closed loop, preventing the circulation of toxic agents (i.e. chemotherapy) throughout the body.

The infusion catheter pushes medicine into the body.
A distal balloon inflates to occlude the vein and direct the countervailing flow of drugs.
The central catheter monitors pressure and keeps the vein open.
The suction catheter pulls medicine out of the body.
A balloon (B) occludes the vein and prevents medicine from escaping to other parts of the body.
